5th INTERNATIONAL FIBER ART BIENNALE
& INTERNATIONAL FIBER ART SYMPOSIUM

1 FOREWORD
Carrying the achievements of ‘From Lausanne to Beijing-2000，2002，2004& 2006International Fiber Art Biennale Exhibition & Symposium’, and centering on Beijing Declaration which embodies the spirit of Lausanne, Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University and Fiber Art Committee of China are going to hold the 5th International Fiber Art Biennale Exhibition in Beijing on November 25, 2008. The International Fiber Art Symposium will be held at the same time. The intention of the cultural event is to show the most active thoughts and ideas in the field of fiber art in the world, to exchange and communication between the eastern and western art further more. Therefore, we promote mutual understanding and cooperation between the art colleges and universities around the world. We welcome support and participation from domestic and overseas colleges, enterprisers, artists and academic sphere.
2 THEME
The main purpose of the upcoming event is to promote the development and exchange of International Fiber Art. The intention is to advance Chinese Fiber Art and art education through an international mutual aid and communication for Chinese and international artists, art colleges and universities in the field of fiber art at home and abroad. We hope to establish beneficial circumstances for internal and external academic exchange.

11 WORKS COLLECTION
1.Application qualification: no restriction on fiber materials, form, skills, and style.
2.Works size: no more than of 6m2 in space, no more than 8m in height.
3.Please mark the artist name, address and name of artwork on the back of the work.
4.Please fill in the form of participation.

12 PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
1.Materials for Application must be arrived before August 25, 2008
The materials for application will include:
a). Application Form (please in English);
b). Artist Biography and Statement;
c). Slides/CD Substitutions of selected artwork (This for print and publish).
2.The organizer has the right to publish the participating works for the purpose of publication.
3.The Evaluation Committee member will judge the materials for participation. The participants should mail the artworks after received the participating information from the jury.
4.For the selected participants, artworks MUST BE shipped by International Post Office or bring by yourself, please NOT use UPS or Federal Express. The artworks must be arrived before October 25, 2008.
5.The shipping cost to Beijing, China, as well as the duty (for the customs) if not shipped by International Post Office will be afford by the participants; the organizer will cover the cost of the works for return to the participants.
6.Insurance of the artworks should be purchased by the participants.
7.Registration costs: $300 will be paid by each participant (It will be include the costs for works return).
