FOREWORD
Authorized by the People's Republic of China Ministry of Culture, ‘From Lausanne to Beijing' 6th International Fiber Art Biennale will open in Zhengzhou city, Henan Province on October 22nd 2010. Simultaneously, an academic symposium will be held. We sincerely welcome all domestic and foreign artists, entrepreneurs, and academic friends to join and support the exhibition.

Culture through Creativity
Our aim is to encourage international communication and popularization of fiber art, enhance Chinese culture and international exchange through creativity, and provide an opportunity to demonstrate a new field of vision that is found and shared by the international field of fiber art in our Exhibition and Symposium, ‘From Lausanne to Beijing’ 6th International Fiber Art Biennale.

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

1. There is no entry fee required to apply.
2. Applications with images will be accepted May 25 – July 25, 2010.
(Entry must arrive before the end of day, July 25, 2010. No exceptions.)

3.There is no restriction on choice of fiber materials, form, or style; work can be two-dimensional (2-D) or three-dimensional (3-D).

4. The gallery has 320cm (126”) high walls for 2-D works, and 600cm (236”) high space for 3-D works.

5. Shipping container or box must not exceed 120cm x 120cm x 50cm.
(47” x 47” x 20”)
The length of a tube or cylinder must not exceed 120cm(47”).

6. Image Submission
(1) Image of artwork can be submitted as photograph or digital file as indicated below:
A. Photographing Your Work
It's essential that the images of your artwork be of the highest professional quality.
Use a professional photographer if possible.
Each image should be clearly focused on a neutral background and accurately reflect the work submitted.
Colors must represent the piece accurately.
Do not use a camera flash. It will cause a "hot spot" on the work.

B. Digital Image Submission
High-resolution: 300-350 pixels/inch, tiff or jpg format.
Do not use interpolation or photo editing software to change the image in any way.
(2) The image of each work should be printed on an A4 or 8 ?” x 11” size paper.
(3) Each work submitted must have a separate application form. The form may be photocopied.
7. Selection: Work will be selected by an evaluation committee. Notification of the jury decision will be sent to the artists by the organizing committee before Aug. 1, 2010.
Artists selected to exhibit at the Bienniale are required to pay a Participation Fee of $300 USD per person. The $300 fee covers: three banquets, selected sightseeing, return of artwork and two catalogues. Participants are responsible for travel expenses to China. If the selected artist does not come to China to join our activities, we will only charge $150 USD for returning the artwork and mailing the two catalogues to the artist.

8. The selected works will be assembled into " ‘From Lausanne to Beijing’ 6th International Fiber Art Biennale Catalogue" by China Architecture & Building Press.

9. Selected artists should transfer $300 Participation Fee to:

Notice
For international participants, the artwork must be shipped by international post office to Henan Art Museum. The artist is responsible for all shipping and insurance costs. The organizing committee will pay for the return shipping.
